PTB Machinefabriek expands its machine park with a new CNC machining center. Workpieces can be machined on five surfaces in one setup. The new machining center allows larger products to be made and materials to be processed even more accurately. Delivery of the new milling machine is expected in March and is completely in line with PTB's automation policy.
With the new Akira Seiki, the machine factory will have the opportunity to make even larger products. Products with dimensions of 1,630 x 850 x 815 mm can be processed in one go with the new machining center. This gives PTB Machinefabriek a much faster and more efficient production.
PTB purchases the new milling machine with a tilting turntable. This turntable has a 4th and 5th axis combination. Products can be machined in fewer fixtures than before. This resulted in a lot of setup time. In addition, it ensures a higher degree of accuracy for the new milling machine, together with the many extras.
The machine is equipped with a number of options that may come in handy in the future. The machine has an automatic door and a wireless, intuitive measuring probe system. These options make it possible, among other things, to have the Akira work together with a Cobot.
The significant expansion of options means that PTB can serve customers even better with the production of tools and parts for the precision mechanical industry, further distinguish itself and significantly improve its competitive position.
PTB Machinefabriek has been an all-round machine builder in Groningen for 125 years. The machine factory works daily on the production of high-quality and precise machines and machine parts for the higher segment.
